Regular biography
A/ Prof. Mark Ellison is a visiting professor at The Australian National University (ANU), affiliated with the Research School of Chemistry (RSC) in the Department of CHEM. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, he studied Chemistry at The University of Western Australia and Murdoch University. He completed his PhD in Science Communication through the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science at ANU. Mark has been recognized for his contributions to chemistry education, including the Pearson/RACI Centenary of Federation Chemistry Educator of the Year Award in 2011 and a Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning in 2012. He also received the Joint Colleges of Science Excellence in Education Award in 2013 and 2018. Currently, he serves as Deputy Associate Director (Education) and First-Year Chemistry Coordinator at ANU.
