Regular biography
Suyang Xu is an Associate Professor of the Natural Sciences in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University. His research focuses on Materials Physical/Chemical Physics, with an emphasis on electronic and optical properties in quantum matters. Xu's work explores emergent quantum phenomena, such as topological and broken symmetry states, and combines advanced tools with interdisciplinary approaches to address challenges in fundamental science and technological applications. His research has included studies on Weyl semimetals and nonlinear electronic responses in topological materials. Xu's laboratory, housed in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, aims to uncover the beauty of quantum crystals through collaborative efforts and access to national and global facilities.
