Eric Jacobsen

Eric Jacobsen is a Professor of Chemistry at Harvard University, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on catalysis, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and organometallics. Jacobsen joined Harvard as a full professor in 1993 and was named the Sheldon Emery Professor of Organic Chemistry in 2001. He has directed a research group comprising 20-25 graduate students and postdocs, dedicated to discovering catalytic reactions and applying mechanistic and computational techniques to their analysis. His work includes the development of catalysts with applications in industry and academia. Jacobsen previously served on the faculty of the University of Illinois from 1988 to 1993.
