Catherine Dulac is a Lecturer in the Department of Molecular & Cellular Biology at Harvard University. Her research focuses on the molecular and neuronal basis of instinctive social behaviors in mice, utilizing molecular, genetic, and electrophysiological techniques. Her work explores the sensory signals, brain areas, and neuronal circuits underlying behaviors such as aggression, mating, and parental behavior. She investigates how these circuits differ between sexes and how they are modulated by physiological states and social experience. Dulac's research has challenged traditional views on sex-specific behavior circuits and has uncovered key principles of the vomeronasal system. Her lab also examines the neural basis of social drive and sickness behaviors, employing advanced imaging and transcriptional methods.
