Laia Barrufet is a Research Associate in the School of Physics and Astronomy at The University of Edinburgh, affiliated with the Royal Observatory, Edinburgh. Her research focuses on observational cosmology, particularly through the analysis of high-redshift galaxies using data from the James Webb Space Telescope. She contributes to the EXCELS survey, which investigates the chemical evolution and physical properties of galaxies across cosmic time. Her work includes studies on metallicity, star formation rates, and galaxy evolution in the early universe. Laia's research is published in leading astronomical journals such as the Astrophysical Journal and Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
