John Rathjen

John Rathjen is a Fellow at The Australian National University's Research School of Biology. His research focuses on plant immunity, plant-microbe interactions, and plant signal transduction. He has conducted studies on the molecular characterization of the Prf bacterial recognition complex in tomato and has received funding from the Australian Research Council and the CSIRO OCE Postdoctoral Scheme. Rathjen has contributed to significant advancements in understanding how plants recognize pathogens and how pathogens suppress host immunity. He teaches modules in plant and animal bacterial pathogenesis and protein kinase function in plant immunity. He is also the Chair of the Plant User Group committee.
