Marten Moore

Marten Moore is a Research Fellow at The Australian National University, affiliated with the Research School of Biology. His work focuses on plant sciences, with an emphasis on chloroplast to nuclear signalling, light, drought, and carotenoids. He is a member of the Pogson Group and contributes to various research projects, including those related to antibiotic selection systems, live mRNA imaging, and chloroplast transporter studies. Moore is also involved in initiatives such as Plant SynBio Australia — ANU and the Division of Plant Sciences. He has received the College of Science Dean’s Commendation for Excellence in Education and Excellence in Supervision in 2025.

Marten Moore is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Plant Biology with a focus on Stress Signaling and Cellular RNA Biology. His research explores mechanisms of plant responses to environmental stress, including high light, salinity, and oxidative stress. He investigates retrograde signaling pathways, redox regulation, and the role of RNA in stress acclimation. His work includes studies on transcription factors, reactive oxygen species, and subcellular localization of proteins such as hemoglobins and phytoglobins. Moore's research also addresses the functional significance of RNA dynamics and translational control in plant stress responses, with implications for improving crop resilience and productivity.
