Rob Magrath
Regular biography
Rob Magrath is a professor at The Australian National University, affiliated with the Research School of Biology. His research focuses on acoustic communication in birds, particularly communication about danger and vocal mimicry, including alarm calls, song, duetting, eavesdropping on other species, and communication between parents and their young. He has supervised various projects related to vocal mimicry and display. Magrath has received several grants, including an ARC Discovery Grant for research on communication and predation in scrubwrens. He has also been involved in editorial roles for several scientific journals and has contributed to teaching undergraduate and Honours courses in evolutionary and behavioural ecology.
