Regular biography
Ezra Miller is a Professor of Mathematics at Duke University, affiliated with the Department of Mathematics. His research spans a broad range of mathematical disciplines, including geometry, algebra, topology, probability, statistics, and computation, with applications in biology, chemistry, computer science, and imaging. His work involves abstract algebraic geometry, commutative algebra, metric geometry, and topological methods such as equivariant K-theory and persistent homology. He also explores connections to data analysis, including geometric statistics of non-Euclidean data and computational methods for biological and medical imaging. Miller has contributed to the study of monomial ideals, lattice ideals, and combinatorial structures in algebraic contexts. His research has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and the University of North Carolina.
