Dorothy Buck is a Research Professor of Mathematics at Duke University, affiliated with the Department of Mathematics. Her research interests include Topology, 3-Manifolds, Knot Theory, Spatial Graphs, Mathematical Biology, BioMolecules, and Entanglement. She is particularly known for her work on theta-curves, unknotting numbers, and topological constraints in biological and soft matter. Buck has contributed to publications in journals such as Transactions of the American Mathematical Society and Physics Reports. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Texas, Austin in 2001.
