Joseph Brock
Regular biography
Joseph Brock is a Lecturer and Group Leader at RSB in The Australian National University's Department of BIO. His research focuses on the role of integral membrane proteins in human health and disease, as well as engineering them for novel purposes using synthetic biology. Brock studied a Bachelor of Medical Science at ANU before completing a PhD at the Research School of Chemistry (2007-2012), focusing on the structural and mechanism of a human detoxification enzyme. He then worked at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, on integral membrane proteins involved in lipid mediator biosynthesis (2013-2017), and later at Stockholm University (2018). He returned to ANU as a Lecturer and Group Leader in 2019.
