Kyle M. Lancaster is the Stephanie Czech Rader ‘37 Professor in Chemistry at Cornell University's Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. His research interests include biophysical inorganic chemistry, physical bioinorganic chemistry, synthesis, outer-sphere coordination, small-molecule activation, climate change, and the nitrogen cycle. The Lancaster Group employs synthesis, biochemistry, and spectroscopic methods to explore reactivity mediated by transition metal complexes and metalloenzymes, with a focus on the biogeochemical nitrogen cycle and C–H functionalization. His work has been recognized with several awards, including the 2024 Society of Biological Inorganic Chemistry Early Career Award and the 2023 Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
