About
Regular biography

Brian Crane is the George W. and Grace L. Todd Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Cornell University. His research focuses on the structure, function, and mechanism of protein systems involved in signal transduction, with an emphasis on processes mediated by redox and photochemistry, as well as those dependent on macromolecular assemblies. His work includes understanding circadian clock light sensors, bacterial transmembrane signaling, nitric oxide enzymology, and protein electron transfer. Crane's research combines genetic and chemical manipulation of proteins, atomic-resolution structure determination, and photochemically triggered experiments in single crystals.
