Regular biography
David B. Zax is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Cornell University. His research focuses on the study of novel solid materials using solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), particularly systems where disorder in structure or dynamics is inherent. His work combines methodological advances with applications of solid-state NMR to real materials, with an emphasis on non-chemical approaches to polymer modification and the behavior of polymers in layered solids. His research explores how subtle guest-host interactions can mediate novel properties in polymer nanocomposites.
