Youn Jue (Eunice) Bae is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Cornell University. Her research focuses on the interaction between electron spins and excitons, phonons, and magnons in solid-state materials, with an emphasis on two-dimensional magnetic materials. The Bae group develops advanced spectroscopic tools combining optical and microwave techniques to study spin dynamics, aiming to create a 2D magnetic semiconductor-based quantum transducer and explore spin-phonon, magnon, and exciton interactions. Her work also investigates how dimensionality and symmetry breaking influence spin and orbital interactions, with applications in quantum transducers, magnetic memory devices, and hardware-based neural networks.
