Rachel Mandelbaum is a Professor and Department Head in the Department of Physics at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research focuses on astrophysics and cosmology, particularly observational cosmology and galaxy studies. She utilizes techniques such as weak gravitational lensing to analyze data from surveys like the Hyper-SuprimeCam (HSC) and is involved in upcoming projects including the Rubin Observatory LSST and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. She is an active member of the LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration and has contributed to numerous publications in leading journals.
