Regular biography
Po-Shen Loh is a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on topics at the intersection of Combinatorics, Probability, and Computer Science. Loh is also involved in outreach efforts, serving as the Academic Director of the United States Mathematical Olympiad Program. He has coached national finalists since 2002 and is the national lead coach for the United States of America. Loh's work includes the study of randomness in combinatorial systems and algorithms, as well as its use as a proof technique in deterministic systems.
