Regular biography
Clinton Conley is an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on descriptive set theory, particularly the study of definable sets and their mathematical properties. His work explores equivalence relations arising from measurable group actions and graphs, intersecting set theory, dynamics, and combinatorics. Conley has published extensively in top mathematics journals, including works on measurable chromatic numbers, the smooth ideal, and measure reducibility of Borel equivalence relations. His research often involves ergodic-theoretic properties and combinatorial structures.
