Athena SWAN is a program at The University of Manchester's Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health (FBMH) that focuses on advancing gender equality and promoting inclusive work environments. The Faculty consolidated efforts into one Athena SWAN Award application and successfully achieved the Silver Award in 2024. This award recognizes the Faculty's commitment to creating structures, processes, and a culture that support gender equality. The initiative highlights eight key priorities, including creating an inclusive learning environment, addressing progression for female academic staff, and tackling sexism, bullying, harassment, and discrimination.
