Gerald Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. His research interests include using mechanics, statistical physics, and high-performance computing to understand nanoscale structural and transport phenomena, with a focus on the water-energy nexus. Wang joined Carnegie Mellon after a postdoctoral position at MIT’s Department of Chemical Engineering. His work spans multiple fields, including nanophotonics, metamaterials, fluid mechanics, and cell biology. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Computation from MIT and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics & Physics from Yale University.
