Regular biography
FRSC Jeremy Baumberg FRS is a Professor of Nanophotonics at the University of Cambridge, Department of Physics. His research focuses on constructing nano-materials with unusual interactions with light, particularly those that can be fabricated on a large scale for practical applications. He has developed various nanophotonics technologies, including kilometre-scale polymer opals, and explores the behavior of light confined to sub-1nm volumes. Baumberg has led interdisciplinary nano-centres at the Universities of Cambridge and Southampton and has worked with industry partners such as Hitachi and IBM. He is also affiliated with the Nanophotonics Centre and the Nano Doctoral Training Centre. His academic profile can be found at https://www.phy.cam.ac.uk/profile/prof-jeremy-baumberg/.
