Regular biography
Dr Jack Button is a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. His research interests include Combinatorial and Geometric Group Theory, with a focus on properties of fundamental groups of 3-manifolds and related groups. He has published extensively in areas such as groups acting on products of locally finite trees, generalized Baumslag–Solitar groups, and nonpositive curvature in group theory. His work appears in journals such as Topology, Algebraic & Geometric Topology, and Groups, Geometry, and Dynamics. Dr Button's research contributes to the understanding of complex algebraic and geometric structures within group theory.
