Regular biography
Bachelor Bioinformatik is a joint undergraduate program offered by the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and the Technische Universität München (TUM). The program combines informatics with molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics, focusing on the intersection of computational methods and life sciences. It is designed to equip students with foundational knowledge in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science, alongside specialized training in bioinformatics. The curriculum includes modules on programming, algorithms, and data analysis, as well as practical work and a bachelor's thesis. The program is structured over six semesters, with instruction in both German and English, and is offered exclusively in the winter semester. The TUM handles examination matters, while LMU oversees enrollment.
