Thanasis Korakis is an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. He is affiliated with the Center for Advanced Technology in Telecommunications (CATT) at NYU Tandon. His research interests include wireless networks, with a focus on access layer protocols, cooperative networks, directional antennas, quality of service provisioning, and network management. Dr. Korakis leads the Wireless Implementation Testbed Laboratory (Witest Lab) at NYU Tandon. He is also a voting member of the IEEE 802.16 standardization group and has contributed to numerous conferences and publications in the field of wireless communications.
