Azhar Zam is an Associate Professor of Bioengineering at the Division of Engineering, New York University in Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). He is also an Associated Faculty at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, NYU Tandon School of Engineering. His research focuses on the development of smart devices for medical imaging, diagnostics, and monitoring using optical technologies. Zam is the founder and director of the Laboratory for Advanced Bio-Photonics and Imaging (LAB-π) at NYUAD. He has authored over 85 peer-reviewed articles and holds several patents. Prior to joining NYUAD, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Basel and held research positions at various institutions in Canada, Ireland, and the United States.
