Theodore (Ted) S. Rappaport is the David Lee/Ernst Weber Professor of Electrical Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering and a professor of computer science at NYU Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. He is also a professor of radiology at the NYU School of Medicine. Rappaport is the founding director of NYU WIRELESS, the world's first academic research center combining engineering, computer science, and medicine. His research focuses on wireless communications, antennas, propagation, and 5G technologies. He has pioneered radio wave propagation measurement and modeling for cellular and personal communications and has contributed to broadband wireless communications systems at millimeter wave frequencies. Rappaport has authored numerous books and holds over 100 U.S. or international patents.
