Regular biography
Qian Wang is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Her research interests include structures, mechanics and materials, with a focus on reliability analysis and design optimization, resilient and sustainable infrastructures, crash and impact analysis, and engineering education. She is affiliated with the Civil, Urban, and Environmental Engineering department and is recognized as an Industry Professor. Wang has contributed to various research projects, including studies on blast-resistant design, fire analysis of bridges, and the behavior of steel structures under detonations. She has also published in journals such as the Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities and Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization.
