Regular biography
Dr. Mehdi Ghandehari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil, Urban and Environmental Engineering at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering. He is also the Head of the Urban Observatory and a founding faculty member of the Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP). Dr. Ghandehari's research focuses on the intersection of urban systems, environmental science, and data science, with a particular emphasis on the use of remote sensing, geospatial analysis, and machine learning to understand and mitigate urban environmental challenges. His work has been widely recognized for its impact on urban sustainability, public health, and environmental justice. Dr. Ghandehari has published extensively in top-tier journals and has received numerous awards for his contributions to the field. He is also a dedicated educator and has mentored numerous students and early-career researchers.
