Tina Treude

Tina Treude is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research interests include marine microbiology, biogeochemical processes, and the study of methane dynamics. She has explored marine oxygen minimum zones and coastal hypoxia, focusing on biogeochemical cycles and their implications under climate change. Her work also encompasses a range of marine geomicrobiological processes, such as petroleum degradation and microbial interactions in deep-sea environments. Treude's research employs various methods, including radiotracer incubations, geochemical analyses, and molecular techniques, to investigate ecological and biogeochemical processes in marine ecosystems. She is also the Director of the Marine Center at UCLA’s Institute of the Environment and Sustainability.
