Regular biography
Catherine Purkiss is a Lecturer in the Business Department at University College London. She is also a Senior Teaching Fellow at UCL. Having qualified as a barrister in 1991, she specialised in Employment and Discrimination law. She has taught at undergraduate, postgraduate and professional levels since 1994, including her work at UCL, which she joined in 1995. Catherine provides her professional expertise on a pro bono basis through law centres, which offer free advice and representation for people on low incomes. She is a special advisor for the charity Magic Breakfast and an ambassador for Stonewall, which campaigns for LGBT equality.
