Jean-Philippe Vergne is a Professor and Head (Strategy & Entrepreneurship) at the UCL School of Management. His research focuses on the evolution of capitalism at the intersection of technology and organization, particularly how socially contested organizations influence the birth and renewal of industries. His work explores industry evolution, organizational adaptation, categorization, and decentralization. Vergne has studied various historical and contemporary contexts, including international trade, communications, and the global arms industry, with a recent focus on Web3 since 2015. He collaborates with firms, startups, and regulators in this space and has contributed to media outlets and conferences globally. He advises start-ups on strategic issues and enjoys live music, art shows, and wine tasting.
