Paula Buttery

Paula Buttery is a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College and a Professor of Language and Machine Learning in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on language and machine learning, with an emphasis on computational linguistics and natural language processing. She leads work on developing frameworks for small language models and explores cognitive aspects of language learning and processing. Her research also addresses challenges in low-resource languages and non-canonical forms of natural language. She teaches courses on formal models of language, natural language syntax, and machine learning.
