Paul Barker
Regular biography
Dr Paul Barker is an Associate Professor in the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on the self-assembly of proteins into functional materials, heme protein assembly and heme chaperones, electrochemistry of proteins, and interactions between heavy metal complexes and proteins. His work explores the engineering of metal-protein interactions for applications in molecular electronics and nanotechnology, as well as the potential of transition metals in medicinal chemistry. Barker's research also investigates the role of proteins in metal cofactor delivery and the behavior of metal complexes in biological systems.
