Regular biography
Colin Steele is a Professor of Mathematics at The University of Manchester, Department of Mathematics. His research interests include applied mathematics, with a focus on solar coronal magnetic structures. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of St Andrews, awarded in 1990, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Astronomy and Astrophysics from the same university, awarded in 1986. He has served as an External Examiner for the University of Edinburgh and the University of Nottingham. He was recognized with a Teaching Excellence Award in 2021.
