Alice Thompson is a Reader in Applied Mathematics at The University of Manchester, Department of Mathematics. She joined the university in 2016 as a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics, was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2019, and became a Reader in 2024. Her research focuses on free-surface problems in fluid mechanics, including drops, bubbles, and films. She is interested in mathematical modelling, computations, asymptotic methods, feedback control, nonlinear dynamics, and collaborations with experimentalists. She is an active member of the Manchester Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics.
