Yotam Smilansky

Yotam Smilansky is a Lecturer in Dynamical Systems and Analysis at The University of Manchester, Department of Mathematics. His research focuses on dynamical systems, particularly aperiodic order, with an emphasis on the distribution of point sets, tilings, and mathematical models of quasicrystals. His work explores the interplay between order and disorder across dynamical systems, number theory, metric geometry, mathematical physics, and combinatorics. Smilansky previously held a Hill Assistant Professor position at Rutgers University and was an Orzen postdoctoral fellow at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He obtained his PhD from Tel Aviv University under the supervision of Barak Weiss.
