Mark Coleman

Mark Coleman is a Senior Lecturer in Pure Mathematics at The University of Manchester. His research interests include Analytic Number Theory, with a focus on the geometric distribution of ideals in number fields and the distribution of Gaussian primes in the plane. He holds a PhD from Cambridge University, where he worked under Alan Baker, FRS and Fields medal winner. Coleman's academic journey includes an undergraduate degree from Imperial College, London, and a Certificate of Advanced Study (Part III) from Cambridge. He joined The University of Manchester in 1989 after a two-year post-doc at Imperial College.
