Regular biography
Dr Jayawan Wijekoon is a Lecturer in Microelectronic Design at the University of Manchester, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His research interests include brain-inspired computing architectures for cognitive systems, bio-inspired sensors, and low-power wearable electronic solutions for medical applications. He has collaborated with various academic institutions, hospitals, and companies in wearable and biomedical industries. Dr Wijekoon received his PhD and MPhil degrees from the University of Manchester in 2011 and 2007, respectively, and his MSc and BSc degrees from the University of Nottingham and University of Peradeniya. One of his publications was awarded the Best Paper award from the IEEE and INNS at the IJCNN conference.
