Andrew Forsyth is a Professor of Power Electronics at The University of Manchester, Department of Electrical Engineering. His research interests include power electronic circuits and systems, power dense converters, wide band-gap device applications, high-frequency magnetic components, thermal management, aerospace and electric vehicle applications, and battery and supercapacitor energy storage systems. His work contributes to Sustainable Development Goals 7 and 13. Forsyth graduated with a BSc(Eng) in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College, London, in 1981, and obtained a PhD in Power Electronics from the University of Cambridge in 1987. He was appointed to the Chair in Power Electronics at Manchester in 2004, a post co-sponsored by the Royal Academy of Engineering and Rolls-Royce.
