Regular biography
Prof Zhongdong Wang is a Professor of Energy System Infrastructure at The University of Manchester, Department of Electrical Engineering. Her research interests include condition monitoring techniques, thermal, electrical transient and magnetic modeling techniques for transformers, insulation ageing mechanisms, and alternative liquid insulating materials. She is also involved in projects related to the development of environmentally friendly and fire-safe transformer liquids and the implementation of retrofilling in power transformers using biodegradable or recycled fluids. Prof Wang has contributed to various research outputs, including articles on breakdown characteristics of transformer liquids and the impact of electrical fields on conductivity of synthetic ester impregnated materials.
