Dr Liam Marsh is a Lecturer in Embedded Systems at the University of Manchester, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His research focuses on security, humanitarian landmine and ERW detection, non-destructive testing, and sensing systems for extreme climates. He has worked on projects such as EMBODY, SEMIS, FRUITGRADING, Q-MEAT, and The Lost Meteorites of Antarctica. Currently, he leads the EPSRC-funded project TRANSMIT, which aims to develop non-invasive sensing for Arctic sea ice thickness. His teaching includes microcontroller engineering and embedded systems projects. He holds a PhD in Electromagnetic Tomography and People Screening from the University of Manchester and a first-class MEng in Electrical Engineering and Electronics from UMIST.
