Qiang Liu is a Professor of High Voltage Engineering at The University of Manchester, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His research focuses on dielectric fluids and their applications in high voltage power equipment, including characterisation of advanced dielectric liquids, discharge and breakdown mechanisms, and ageing indicators of insulation systems. He is also involved in high voltage testing and insulation system design. Liu holds a BEng and MEng from Xi’an Jiaotong University and a PhD from The University of Manchester. He is a senior member of IEEE and an associate editor of IET High Voltage Journal. His work contributes to Sustainable Development Goals 7, 9, and 13.
