Iain Crowe

Iain Crowe is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at The University of Manchester, affiliated with the Materials, Devices and Systems (MDS) Research Division and the Photon Science Institute. His research interests include silicon photonics, photovoltaic materials, and advanced functional materials, with applications in sensing, energy conversion, and optoelectronics. Prior to his academic career, he worked in the Aerospace and Defence sectors, focusing on pulsed power electromagnetics. His work contributes to Sustainable Development Goals 7 and 11, and he has published research on photonic crystal resonators, photoluminescence analysis, and semiconductor materials.
