Chao Chen is a Lecturer in Control Systems at the University of Manchester, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His research interests include nonlinear systems, robust control, phase theory, and neuromorphic control. Prior to joining The University of Manchester, he was a postdoctoral scholarship holder at the STADIUS Center, KU Leuven, Belgium, and a postdoctoral fellow at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, China. He received his B.E. degree in automation from Zhejiang University of Technology, China, and his Ph.D. in electronic and computer engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is currently accepting PhD students for research in theoretical and novel directions within nonlinear and robust control.
