Regular biography
Cristina Trujillo Del Valle is a Lecturer in Computational and Theoretical Chemistry at The University of Manchester, Department of Chemistry. Her research focuses on computational organic chemistry, with an emphasis on asymmetric catalysis, the design of organocatalysts, and the prediction and control of catalytic processes. She integrates quantum chemical calculations, machine learning, and experimental validation to develop efficient and selective catalysts. Trujillo Del Valle obtained her Ph.D. in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry in 2008 at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and held postdoctoral positions in Spain, the Czech Republic, and Ireland. She has been recognized with the SFI-Starting Investigator Research Grant (2018) and the L’Oreal-Unesco Women in Science UK and Ireland Fellowship - Highly Commended (2019). Currently, she leads her own research group at The University of Manchester.
