Martin Schröder

Martin Schröder is a Professor of Chemistry at The University of Manchester, affiliated with the Chemistry department. His research focuses on materials chemistry, particularly the design, synthesis, and study of porous metal organic framework materials for energy and environmental applications. His work addresses the separation and capture of fuel and toxic gases, as well as applications in catalysis, clean-up, and proton conductivity. He has held various leadership roles at the University of Edinburgh, University of Nottingham, and The University of Manchester, where he currently serves as Vice-President and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. He has published extensively and received numerous awards, including the Royal Society of Chemistry Nyholm Prize for Inorganic Chemistry and the Dalton Horizon Prize.

Martin Schroder is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Manchester, specializing in coordination and materials chemistry. His research focuses on the design and synthesis of coordination polymers and metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with tailored properties for applications in gas storage, separation, and catalysis. Schroder's work explores the self-assembly of building blocks to create porous materials with enhanced functionality, such as high hydrogen adsorption capacity and selective gas sorption. His studies also address the structural and supramolecular aspects of these materials, including anion control, pore size modulation, and the role of exposed metal sites in enhancing performance.
