Perdita Barran is Professor of Mass Spectrometry and Director of the Michael Barber Centre for Collaborative Mass Spectrometry at The University of Manchester. She holds a Chair of Mass Spectrometry in the Department of Chemistry and is affiliated with the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology. Her research interests include biological mass spectrometry, instrument development, and the application of mass spectrometry to complex biological problems. She has authored over 200 publications and has mentored numerous graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Barran has also founded Sebomix Ltd., a company focused on sebum-based diagnostics for Parkinson’s Disease.
