Dr. Xiaomin Xu is a Lecturer in Ground Engineering at the University of Manchester, Department of Civil Engineering and Management. He previously conducted research at the Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction (CSIC) within the University of Cambridge's Department of Engineering. Dr. Xu holds a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from Zhejiang University (2012), an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering from Chongqing University (2007), and a BEng in Civil Engineering from Chongqing University (2004). His research interests include innovative sensing, structural health monitoring, smart earthworks, and multiscale numerical modelling. He has contributed to major projects such as Crossrail, HS2, and Bank Station Capacity Upgrade.
