Ben Parkes

Ben Parkes is a Lecturer in Climate Resilience at The University of Manchester, Department of Civil Engineering. His research focuses on climate impacts, particularly how climate change affects human livelihoods. He applies climate change projections to impact models to inform policy makers and the general public. His work includes assessing water demand in crops, aircraft emissions, and spacecraft demise. Parkes has contributed to projects related to heat and health infrastructure for DESNZ and UKRI and serves as the Resilience lead for the Sustainable Futures platform at the university. His research interests also extend to computing hardware and its practical impacts.
