Regular biography
Professor Yong Wang is a member of the Graphene Green Concrete team at the University of Manchester's Department of Civil Engineering. His research focuses on sustainable construction materials, particularly the development of graphene-enhanced concrete as a sustainable alternative to traditional concrete. This project, in collaboration with United Utilities, aims to reduce the environmental impact of construction by utilizing 100% recycled aggregate and graphene to lower carbon emissions. The initiative is part of United Utilities' Innovation Lab, where the first test pour of Graphene Green Concrete was conducted. The research explores the performance of varying graphene concentrations in concrete slabs to meet necessary engineering standards.
